The Educational Animals at Churchville
Leopard Gecko
Rose Hair Tarantula
Blue Tongue Skink
Russian Tortoise
Our collection of education animals includes: snakes, turtles, lizards and arthropods. We use these animals for a variety of programs from reptile shows to birthday parties. The majority of them are on display throughout the visitor center with some kept in the Wet Lab and only visible to the public during programs and feeding days.
Besides the arthropods, many of our animals came to us by chance from owners who could not continue to take care of them for one reason or another. We are NOT a licensed rehabilitation center or capable of taking in all abandoned pets, but may take reptiles in on occasion if they are unique and can be used in programming. If you are looking to re-home your pet, or have found injured wildlife, the below links will assist you.

Giving a Helping Hand...
Please consider helping to support our live education animals through donation or sponsorship. We strive to provide our animals with the best care possible, but funding for best practices is often difficult especially in situations where medical treatment is required. We receive money for our scaly friends from educational programming with them as well as through adoptions and donations. If you would be interested in helping to maintain our population through a donation or adoption, follow the links below to learn more or to donate.

Reptile Adoption Program
The reptile adoption program involves a one year sponsorship for all the estimated husbandry needs of one of the various reptiles in our educational collection. This includes the cost of food, bedding and bulbs.
Sponsoring one of our reptiles not only helps us ensure they get all the care they require, but comes with the ability to name them as well as to schedule private visits with them throughout the year. A great way to get your child the snake they wanted without having to do the day to day care!
