Before You Visit...
Attractions
Our facilities include a visitor center housing interpretive exhibits, live animal displays, a gift shop and a naturalist room complete with displays, books and an indoor view of our bird blind. Outside access to the blind is available year-round just behind the visitor center.
There are 2 miles of nature trails across the preserve that intersect several habitat types. Parts of our trail system are wheelchair accessible.
Stand surrounded by fluttering gems in our Janet V. Mackiewicz Butterfly House, visit a re-created Lenape Indian Village or take a stroll through our Marlin D. Corn Wildlife Gardens.
A full range of environmental programs are offered for school groups as well as scout packs. Public programs include bird walks, campfire programs, children's camps.
We even have a natural playground and picnic grove, both open year-round for visitor use.
There is something for everyone!

Rules
  • Please respect our trails and property by not littering or disrupting the wildlife.
  • We are a nature preserve, please stay on designated trails. Foraging and/or the harvesting of wildlife from the property is explicitly prohibited.
  • We do not permit pets on our trails. ADA certified service dogs are given an exception only when properly tagged. Emotional support animals are not covered by the ADA and not accepted.
  • Our trails are available for light day-hiking. Trails are closed at sundown. No camping or fires permitted.
  • The use of bikes, ATV's, alcohol, drugs, and weapons of any kind are all also prohibited on our property.
  • We also prohibit the use of drones on our trails and over the lake to prevent disruption of local wildlife including nesting birds.
  • No hunting or trapping is allowed on Bucks County Park property or the adjacent Essential Utilities (Aqua America) properties. The Churchville Reservoir (Springfield Lake) itself is privately owned by Essential Utilities, NOT the County. NO public recreational use of the lake is permitted. This includes no fishing, no boating, and no swimming.

Tuesday - Sunday 10AM to 5PM
Closed Mondays
Nature Trails are open sunup to sundown every day. No pets, bikes, or ATVs are allowed on the trails.
Visitor Center, wildlife gardens, nature trails and playground are free of charge. Special events/programs or facility rentals may close down normally open areas for private or payed usage.

Please Note: Our visitor center and some of our trails are handicapped-accessible with the visitor center itself being ADA compliant. Our trails are a mixture of paved, stone, boardwalk and compact dirt. A limited amount of wheelchairs are available to borrow upon request.

Lenape Village Hours
The Lenape Village is only open for scheduled programming. We typically offer programming for schools, scouts and private tours. Butterfly House Hours
The Butterfly House open seasonally, July through September, Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Special events, operating hours and other information, such as pricing, can be found HERE.

From Newtown / 413 BypassFrom the 413 Bypass or Newtown, take Route 332 West/Newtown-Richboro Road towards Richboro to the traffic light at the intersection of Holland Road (Landmark – Fleuhr Funeral Home on the left). Turn left onto Holland Road and proceed 2.5 miles to Churchville Lane (shortly after the railroad tracks). Turn right onto Churchville Lane and go approximately1/8 mile to the Nature Center on the right.

From DoylestownTake Route 611 South to Bristol Road. Turn left onto Bristol Road and proceed approximately 6.5 miles, cross Second Street Pike/Route 232 and continue to the traffic light at Churchville Lane/Bustleton Pike (Landmark-Churchville Inn Restaurant on the right). Note: the traffic light before Churchville Lane is Churchville Road do not turn there. Turn left onto Churchville Lane and follow 1 mile to the Nature Center on the left, just after you cross over the reservoir.

From Hatboro / HorshamHorsham – Follow 611 South to Blair Mill Road and turn left. Follow Blair Mill Road to the traffic light at County Line Road. Turn Right onto County Line Road and follow to the light at Jacksonville Road in Hatboro and turn left (see below to continue)
Hatboro – Follow Jacksonville Road towards Street Road/Route 132. Cross over Street Road/Route 132 and continue to traffic light at Bristol Road. Turn right onto Bristol Road and follow to the traffic light at Churchville Lane/Bustleton Pike (Landmark-Churchville Inn Restaurant on the right). Note: the traffic light before Churchville Lane is Churchville Road do not turn there. Turn left onto Churchville Lane and follow 1 mile to the Nature Center on the left, just after you cross over the reservoir.

From Willow GroveFrom near the Willow Grove Park Mall, take Davisville Road east towards Bucks County to County Line Road. Turn right onto County Line Road and at the next traffic light make an immediate left to continue on Davisville Road. Follow across Street Road/Route 132 to where it ends at Bristol Road. Turn right onto Bristol Road and follow to the traffic light at Churchville Lane/Bustleton Pike (Landmark-Churchville Inn Restaurant on the right). Note: the traffic light before Churchville Lane is Churchville Road do not turn there. Turn left onto Churchville Lane and follow 1 mile to the Nature Center on the left, just after you cross over the reservoir.

From Huntingdon Valley & Upper SouthamptonTake Huntingdon Pike/Route 232 towards Bucks County and Southampton. After crossing County Line Road Huntingdon Pike now becomes Second Street Pike. Follow Second Street Pike to the traffic light at Knowles Ave. (landmark – Dunkin Donuts on near left corner). Turn right onto Knowles Ave and follow across Street Road/Route 132. You are now on Churchville Road. Follow about 1 mile to the traffic light at Bristol Road. Turn right onto Bristol Road and follow to the traffic light at Churchville Lane/Bustleton Pike (Landmark-Churchville Inn Restaurant on the right). Turn left onto Churchville Lane and follow 1 mile to the Nature Center on the left, just after you cross over the reservoir.

From Lower Bucks County (Bristol / Levittown)Take Route 413 North to Business Route 1. Continue straight across the intersection onto South Flowersmill Road. Follow South Flowersmill Road to Route 213/Maple Ave. Turn left onto Route 213/Maple Ave. and follow through Langhorne to the traffic light at Old Bristol Road (Landmark-Just For Kids Day Care center on far right corner). Turn right onto Old Bristol Road and follow to the next traffic light at Buck Road. Turn right onto Buck Road and follow a very short distance to the next light (landmark – Wawa store on your left and gas station on your right). Continue straight and you are now on Holland Road. Follow Holland about 1⁄4 mile to the first left onto Churchville Lane. Turn left onto Churchville Lane and go about 1/8 mile to the Nature Center on your right

From Eastern Philadelphia & New Jersey South of BurlingtonTake I-95 North to the exit for Route 132/Street Road. Turn left onto Route 132 West and follow it 6 miles to Bustleton Pike (Landmark-Ford Truck Dealership on the far right corner). Turn right onto Bustleton Pike and get into the left lane. At the 2nd traffic light, get into the left turn lane (landmark-LukOil gas station on left corner & Buck Hotel in front of you). Turn left to continue on Bustleton Pike. Follow Bustleton Pike 2 miles to the next traffic light at Bristol Road (landmark-Churchville Inn Restaurant is on the near left corner). Cross over Bristol Road and you are now on Churchville Lane. Follow Churchville Lane 1 mile to the nature center on your left just after you cross over the reservoir.

From Western Philadelphia & King Of PrussiaTake the Schuylkill Expressway/I-76, or the Blue Route/I-476 to the PA Turnpike. Take the Turnpike East to Exit #351 (Old exit #28). As you exit the toll booth, stay to the right and follow the sign for the exit ramp to Route 1 South. At the top of the exit ramp you will see signs for Route 132/Street Road. Take Route 132/Street Road West and follow it 3 miles to Bustleton Pike (Landmark-Ford Truck Dealership on the far right corner). Turn right onto Bustleton Pike and get into the left lane. At the 2nd traffic light, get into the left turn lane (landmark-LukOil gas station on left corner & Buck Hotel in front of you). Turn left to continue on Bustleton Pike. Follow Bustleton Pike 2 miles to the next traffic light at Bristol Road (landmark-Churchville Inn Restaurant is on the near left corner). Cross over Bristol Road and you are now on Churchville Lane. Follow Churchville Lane 1 mile to the nature center on your left just after you cross over the reservoir.

From Yardley & I-95 North of Newtown (Trenton & Northern Jersey)From Northern New Jersey, go to I-95 and follow South to the exit for Newtown/Yardley/Route 332. Take Route 332 West towards Newtown, Route 332 will join with the Route 413 Bypass. Follow the Bypass to where 332 West turns left onto Newtown-Richboro Road. (landmark-Shir Ami Temple on the near left corner). Turn left onto Newtown-Richboro Road/332 West and follow towards Richboro to the traffic light at the intersection of Holland Road (Landmark – Fleuhr Funeral Home on the left). Turn left onto Holland Road and proceed 2.5 miles to Churchville Lane (shortly after the railroad tracks).
