Help us collect data while learning more about arthropods
Churchville Nature Center is planning a day out in the preserve to record as many species of insects, spiders and other arthropods as we can. This is not a program, but a day to get involved in citizen science for those interested in helping to record the biodiversity around the center. We will be using a program called iNaturalist that will allow those in attendance to upload photos they take on their phones to be identified and posted to our Bioblitz survey. Don’t worry if you aren’t exactly an expert, the iNaturalist app will help you identify what you spotted or narrowed down for later confirmation. We will start the day by briefly going over how to use the iNaturalist app, how to upload photos to the survey from the computer and rules for participating in the Bioblitz. We will then split up around the property to see what awesome species we can find! Please let us know if you are interested in participating by calling our naturalist Bill Woodroffe at 215-357-4005 ext. 5033 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
